This hand-built ceramic piece is based on a polyhedron known as the joined truncated octahedron. The polyhedron is the convex hull of the Archimedean solid compounded with its Catalan dual. This piece was commissioned for the PolyPlace traveling installation and is approximately 5 inches across.
