Fractus

"Fractus" is a limited edition of 50 digital prints completed in 2002. "Fractus" is an homage to Escher's print "Hand with Reflecting Sphere", which can be seen in the reflected background, hanging on the wall. "Fractus" means broken, and is the basis for the word fractal. In this print, a fragment of a broken mirrored sphere is held in a hand. The fingers of the hand become smaller hands, with smaller fragments of mirrors, etc., so that the hand is a fractal object.
