Fractal Tessellation of Spirals
"Fractal Tessellation of Spirals" is a digital artwork completed in February of 2011. It is based on a fractal tessellation of kite-shaped tiles discovered by Dr. Fathauer some ten years earlier. All of the spirals in the print below have the same shape (more precisely, they are all similar in the Euclidean plane). This print won Special Merit Recognition - Originality & Innovation, at the 2011 Science & Math-based Art Contest in Los Alamos, New Mexico.Click here for a high-resolution detail of the print.
